The public works department manages several maintenance and reconstruction projects yearly. Find out more about these projects in the city's Five year capital improvement plan (CIP).
We understand that street projects can sometimes cause short-term inconveniences. Our plan is to complete these projects with the least amount of interruptions. We thank you for your patience as we continue to improve your streets, utilities, and trails.
Snail Lake Regional Park - Trail Improvements
Ramsey County Parks & Recreation Department will be completing trail improvements at Snail Lake Regional Park in the area north of Gramsie Road to Snail Lake Road. This work will include resurfacing and address repeated flooding of the trails.

2025 Watermain Project 25-02
The city will install two new sections of watermain: (1) from Milton Street to Target Lane and (2) from Woodbridge Street to North Owasso Boulevard. Minor other work will be included, such as valve and hydrant replacements. This project is part of the city's ongoing work to provide an efficient and reliable water system for our residents.
Construction will use trenchless technology to install the pipe, which allows the project to minimize disruption to surface pavement and vegetation along the project.
No assessments will be associated with this project.
The 2025 watermain project is currently in the preliminary design phase. Final locations of the new watermain are still being determined. Construction is anticipated in 2024.
2024 Street Rehabilitation
Project will include work in multiple neighborhoods, with 4.5 miles of roadwork and 1.5 miles of trails and sidewalk replacement.
Please note the construction schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change:
October 9th:
Contractor will do preventative maintenance on the newly paved streets called "saw and seal," to saw joints in the pavement and immediately adds a sealant on the top to make them water-tight, preventing pavement damage.

2024 Cottage Place Wetland Regeneration
The Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District, in cooperation with the City of Shoreview, will be restoring the wetland located to the west of Cottage Place.

Before tree removal starts (Nov 18), we ask adjacent residents remove any of their private items (including fire pits or firewood) from inside the staked area. Thank you for your help on this!
