The planning commission assists with long-range planning in the city. It also helps to foster high-quality development.

The commission:

• Prepares and review the city's comp plan
• Adopts and enforce controls to implement the city's plans
• Acts as the city's board of adjustments and appeals
• Reviews and make recommendations on all development applications
