Housing is such a critical component to the health and wellness of a community, impacting the well-being and overall quality of life of people, and is essential to attracting and retaining businesses and jobs that support the economic vitality of a city. The city of Shoreview is committed to offering a variety of housing choices including affordable options, maintaining vibrant neighborhoods, well-maintained housing stock, and supporting reinvestment.

In order to assess the overall housing conditions and factors that impact housing livability in Shoreview, the Economic Development Authority with approval from the City Council, engaged a planning consulting firm to undertake a comprehensive housing study. The housing assessment included collecting data on demographics, employment and housing, identifying needs/demand and gaps, and identifying housing strategies that meet community goals.  The study was completed at the end of 2021.
