Real Life Mister Rogers, Part 2: Welcoming Neighbors

  • Date: 10/21/2021 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Join us for this online event co-hosted by League of Women Voters Roseville, Do Good Roseville, Ramsey County Library Roseville and City of Shoreview Human Rights Commission. This event features the following panelists:

  • Tamara Gray, Executive Director at Rabata
  • Miriam Itzkowitz, Director of Trauma-Informed Care Institute at Hamline University
  • Marquita Stephens, Director of Education, Policy & Programming at Minneapolis Urban League
  • Nelsie Yang, St. Paul City Council member Ward 6

Equity issues shift to a personal level as panelists address the varied responses to neighbors of differing backgrounds joining our communities. We’ll explore how stereotypes and imbedded beliefs affect our interactions. We’ll also explore how in today’s polarized climate, we can become welcoming neighbors, bridging cultural differences to build and sustain strong, vibrant, and welcoming neighborhoods.
