Property maintenance resources

Hearts and Hammers

Hearts and Hammers provides assistance to people who are 60+ years old, disabled, or severely ill. They also provide services to current or former armed forces members and their spouses. The services are free of charge unless and so are materials, unless materials are needed that Hearts and Hammers do not actively stock. A social security statement is required for elderly people and a medical statement is required for disabled or severely ill people. The services that are provided include landscaping, minor repairs, painting, and outdoor cleanup. 30-40 volunteers and a small number of handymen are provided to come to the site.

Dispute Resolution Center

The Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) restores communities by promoting constructive and peaceful resolution of conflicts. A variety of conflict resolution options are provided for conflicts between people including mediation, diversion and youth programs. They can help address civil disputes involving housing, harassment, contracts, neighbor issues, or other civil matters. Training is also offered on how to navigate conflict and seek restorative justice outcomes.

Shoreview materials assistance

The City of Shoreview may provide financial assistance for materials if household income is 80% below the community’s AMI (Area Median Income). You need to provide your contact information, address, project scope, materials needed, and income.

Home improvement loans

The city has three different loan options to make purchasing or improving homes more affordable. Each serves different needs in the home buying or home-ownership process. Visit NeighborWorks Homepartners to learn more and apply.

Public transit resources

Care Crew

Care Crew provides rides for people in and around their community. Services are available to seniors, people with disabilities, single-parent families, and people with low income. Additional services may also be available.

Metro Micro

Metro Micro is a shared ride service where you can go anywhere you need to within the service area. Fares range from $1 to $3.25.

Metro Mobility

Metro Mobility is a door-to-door public transit system. It is for people with disabilities in Twin Cities communities.

Metro Transit

Make your commute to downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul easier with Metro Transit.

  • Route 62 – Shoreview Community Center to St. Paul
  • Route 261 – Shoreview Community Center to Minneapolis

Transit Link

Transit Link is a curb-to-curb minibus or van service that operates in certain Twin Cities communities. It is a shared-ride service, which needs to be reserved in advance and fares are generally under $3.

Senior LinkAge Line

The Senior LinkAge Line connects seniors with the services they need ranging from home health care and housekeeping to transportation and legal assistance.

Help At Your Door

Help at your door is a nonprofit serving seniors and individuals with disabilities across the Twin Cities. They offer grocery assistance, home support, and transportation services that provide help with in-home task and chores.
